According to her website, a few years ago author Lynn Viehl promised her friends that if she ever hit the New York Times mass market bestseller list that she’d share her experiences about what it took to get her there and what it’s like to be there.
Now, Viehl is keeping her promise. On the website Genreality, she shares worthy and informative insights.
The first thing Viehl does is debunk a lot of the myths that circulate about the paths to that lofty achievements. The second thing she does is talk about her royalty statements. She not only explains them, but in an act of daring, admirable, disclosure, links to pictures of her statements on the web. You can find them here, here, and here. Oh, and let’s not forget here.
Most writers won’t even discuss their advances, for various understandable reasons. Viehl is to be commended for her generous sharing of information. She has provided insight into the financials in a unique way that I’ve seen no one else do. God bless her.
