My agent has been shopping around Black Orchid Blues, the second Lanie Price mystery. To keep my spirits up during what is unarguably a nerve-wracking process, I decided to do some inspirational artwork for it. I just added this character portrait to my gallery:
Black Orchid Blues is the second in what the Lanie Price mystery series. Our intrepid 1920s reporter gets caught up in the daring kidnapping of Queenie Lovetree, also known as the Black Orchid. Some might say that producing artwork for the book before the manuscript has been sold might be a bit presumptuous; I prefer to think of it as positive thinking. It’s really a wonderful story and I think readers will enjoy. Now, if only I could convince a publisher of that!
Meanwhile, I’ve been hard at work on another title, this time a contemporary one. It concerns a woman who finds herself in a dangerous love affair.
In other small change, I’ve been enjoying my tenure as a member of the board of directors for the New York Chapter of the Mystery Writers of America. It’s a wonderful group overall and my colleagues on the board are especially wonderful.
I’d like to throw a special shout out to a fellow writer who is not on the board, however. Her name is Lisa Cottogio and se’s got a great book trailer about her latest work.
