Caught the movie How to Seduce Beautiful Woman tonight, on its opening night, at the Village East Cinemas. It was wonderful: funny, touching, and insightful. I actually expected something a bit more macho. (And I’m not just saying this because the director, Richard Temchine, is a sexy Frenchman who happens to be a friend of mine.) Instead, it’s a very even-handed film, one in which you can’t help but fall in love with the characters, a bunch of men who apparently no clue how to talk to woman, much less “difficult ones.” Catch it. It’s a fun film, might even inspire you. Temchine might also be giving seminars and classes on the subject. I’m sure they’ll be rousing, if he does.
