Moving to WordPress, Working on New Book

by Persia on July 18, 2009

So today is the first day of my new blog life! My first day at WordPress. Yes, I know the rest of the world has been here forever! [TAGNETICPOETRY]But hey, it’s not just a case of being late to the party. It’s like I was off exploring other things, other places!

I’ve got a lot of work, adding all the widgets and doo-hickies that I’d managed to laden my other blog with. My webmaster, Steve, is groaning under the weight of them. I’d add them myself, but I haven’t the faintest idea how to do it.

Meanwhile, I’m continuing work on my latest masterpiece, a contemporary paranormal. That’s right. A contemporary paranormal, not a historical mystery. I wanted to try something different for a change.

Amend that.

I do have the next Lanie Price book on my desk for editing/proofreading. I’ll make a HUGE announcement as soon as I get the 411 on who and when (as in who will be publishing it and when). I also have that prequel/sequel to Harlem Redux on my hard drive. It’s so near completion, I’ve decided to finish it. One week of sitting down and focusing on it would probably get it done.

Back to the new book. I love the story. (Don’t I always at the beginning, though?) I’ve shared it with a couple of friends. They loved it, too. (But don’t your friends always say they love it/like it, even when they don’t?) Anyway, having listened to the Scarecrow, by Michael Connelly, I’m all juiced up to finish a detailed outlined. Oh, I’ve started the book, but I’ve already run into some issues with having too many thoughts in my head at the same time, and being totally blank at other. The connecting links between the story moments need to be nailed down. Details, details, details. They’re what make Connelly’s stories so great. Well, one of the things, anyway. (I’m a big fan. Can’t you tell?)
