Writing in the Dark

So what’s my favorite way of writing? (Every now and then I ask that question.) Putting my headphones on, turning on some smooth jazz. Opening up my story in Scrivener, then turning off all the lights — the lights on the laptop screen and the lamplight near my bed. It’s like being in an isolation tank. The only light I see comes from the keyboard and that is so cool. The best way to do NaNoWriMo, by the way. Music on. Lights out. Put my fingers to the keyboard and type. Yes …
